Configuration of Netscape Communicator

The following Instructions are for Netscape Communicator
Version 4.5 & 4.7

Open Netscape Mail (or Navigator).
Click on the Edit menu at the top, and click on Preferences.
Click on the Mail and Newsgroups category.
Click on the Identity category (you may need to click the + next to Mail and Newsgroups).
Your name:
This is the name that will appear as "FROM:" on messages you send.
Email address:
your email address, It will be youraccountname@titan.co.nz
Reply-to address:
You may leave this blank
Organization:
You may wish to put your company name here.
This may be left blank.
Signature file:
If you wish to add a text signature, put it in a text file and select it here.
This may be left blank.
Click on the Mail Servers category.
Incoming Mail Servers
Even though it appears you can have more than one server, unfortunately you cant with POP3.
Click "Edit..."
Server Name:
Type in pop3.titan.co.nz
Server Type:
This must be POP3 Server
User Name:
This is your Login Name or the first part of you email address
Check for mail every ... minutes
While netscape is open, it will check for new mail every ... minutes.
Automatically download any new messages
If, while checking, it finds new mail, it will download it straight away.
Leave messages on server
If this is ticked, mail you download will not be removed from our server.
We ask that you keep your mailbox clear as much as possible, so we prefer you have this unticked.
When deleting a message locally, remove it from the server
If you do choose to "leave mail on server" messages deleted locally after being read will also be deleted from the server.
Close this window to return to the main settings window
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
Type in smtp.titan.co.nz
Outgoing mail server user name:
This should be blank.
Use Secure Socket Layer(SSL) or TLS for outgoin messages:
This must be set to "Never"
Local mail directory:
This is the folder on your computer where your mail is stored.
There mut be a valid folder in here or the program will not save your email.
Click OK to close the Prferences Window

Always attach Address Book Card to messages.
If you wish to include your Netscape Address Book Card (Contains your contact information) in all outgoing messages, Tick this.
This is usually unticked.
Click on the Mail Servers category.
 Mail server user name:
This is your Login Name or the first part of you email address
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
Type in smtp.titan.co.nz
Incoming mail server:
Type in pop3.titan.co.nz
Mail Server Type
This MUST BE set to POP3.
Leave messages on server after retrieval
If this is ticked, downloaded mail will not be removed from the server.
We prefer if you don't have this ticked.
Click OK to close the Prferences Window
